Carb vs Fuel Injection????????????

RE: Carb vs Fuel Injection????????????
carb is way much easier, no need for all this electrical ****, carb makes more hp with super charger and nitrious, also carb is easier to tune and way much cheaper. with FI everytime you get like new injetors they are 400 bucks, and FI is way more exspenive go with carb if you want the best out of it for racing, strip

Carb will be easier on the billfold and the mind BUT if you are going to be on the street 90% of the time, throw down for EFI stuff.......
BTW, my racer is carbed but then it's never on the street and I've been fiddling with carbs for 40 years, my DD's are all EFI.......

RE: Carb vs Fuel Injection????????????
EFI's -'s are, more expensive, more complicated, more delicate, more restrictive prefabbed components, requires more parts, more difficult to work on, and is more difficult to diagnose when something is not working correctly.... +'s are, more tunable, can be more responsive, handles high pressure forced induction set ups better
Carb's -'s are, trickier for some to tune, little less tunable, & have to be more careful when doing blow through forced induction.... +'s are, Does 95% of what EFI can do but cheaper, simpler & easier, less stuff to break on a carb set up, easier to diagnose problems, plus no electronics to break, dont have to worry about stuff getting wet.
And remember that when you go EFI, not only is your fuel delivery stuff more of a pain. So is your ignition stuff. Basicly all of the things that I listed as +'s & -'s for the different two will carry over to the ignition system.

RE: Carb vs Fuel Injection????????????
carb is cheaper hp,and just as much hp as efi.i havee had both, and i like carb for the simplicity, and cheapness...efi is more efficient hp,but alot more $ to build...most guys on here dont tune there efi set up they take it somewhere, not all but most..or alot try but have no knowledge, shade tree mechanics...a carb is easy to tune if ya read up on it and learn as well as a efi set up too...read and learn about it..better gas milage and efficent on efi///cheaper hp and easy to tune on carb....imo

RE: Carb vs Fuel Injection????????????
Carbs are only easier to tune to people who have no clue about EFI. I think sitting in my car on my laptop and tuning the fuel curve and timing tables is pretty easy, plus no messy fuel bowls to remove and no gas spills.

RE: Carb vs Fuel Injection????????????
To really know what you are doin with EFI there is alot of math to know, fuel demands have to met right etc. Like there is math to figure out how to get your injectors to flow right with more fuel pressure etc. For example you need a 34 lb injector for your car, but they dont make one, so you need to figure out what fuel pressure you need to run to get 34lbs out of your 30lb inejectors. It gets even more complex when you throw power adders on.

If the car is going to be a DD, you should really consider FI. I just makes those morning starts a little easier. It really is whatever you prefer. Get what you are comfortable with.
