guys with a big cam and intake and a little portin and polishin of the heads would i see 400 hp from a 351

hmmm what year cause i dyno'd a 35o with a 50 shot... heads and cam and all the goods and didn't see 4oo hp

i dont kno but i can get one for cheap it needs to be rebuilt and then i am gonna put a nasty cam in it and match it with the intake and a good port job i would think i could get about 320 at the wheels but i dont kno

yeah.. might wana bore it.. we had stock bore with like 9:1 pistons 50 shot and stuff and got 384 torque and 363 hp

well there are, or were (havent been around this section in a long time) some guys on this forum that were barely getting 300 to the wheel with a custom cam and the full on heads and intake, figuring that you will have about 16% more displacement I dont believe you will get the 400 wheel hp you want. Good luck though!

cause if that is wheel then u are making 460 at crank
and i dont need taht much

i dont get what your deal with boring a motor out is. you dont bore to make displacement or increase hp. you want to bore as little as possible. only reason you bore a motor is to get a "new" cylinder wall

but overboring has

you stroke it to gain displacement, boring to gain hp is definetly not a good idea
