Yes like a 'Buzz'... When I added my MSD 6AL, it might of made it a Little bit louder, but not much.

I dont see how putting a piece of rubber would reduce the ticking noise... its just the coil ticking. I guess I can try it if it comes to a last resort but Im pretty sure Im going to just send it back to Summit and get another one, it sucks because I wanted the MSD but hey, you gotta do what you gotta do. Did they give you a hard time about taking the coil back? did they refund you for shipping, restocking? I not trying to pay for shipping back and a 10-20% restocking fee or something.

Maybe I will send it back to Summit and have them send me a new one and see if it does it again, if it does than I will send it back and go with a different one.

I didn't say it worked; I was 'told', just making a suggestion. It would be worth a shot before you send it back. (floor mat, etc.) Well, once you call there tech line, just state that you have never heard a coil make a 'Buzzing' noise unless it was going bad. They shouldn't give you a hard time after that. I don't remember about the shipping though.

Does summit sell Mallory? I have heard tons of good things about them too. Which would you recommend? My mods are in my sig (basically stock) but I plan on consistantly working on it from now until its blown w/ a good h/c/i setup.

ford tfi street/strip coil
High Performance Coil For Street/Strip Use. Great for the modified car or truck with bolt on performance equipment such as a performance intake manifold, cold air intake system, headers and a cat-back exhaust system, nitrous oxide, etc. Strong up to 6500 RPM. High performance replacement coil increases the RPM range of Ford TFI-equipped cars and trucks. The stock HEI coil is limited to about 5000 RPM. Use with Mallory HYFIRE Series Ignition Systems to increase RPM and performance output even more. Direct replacements for Ford's e-coil style coils.
Part Number: 29209

EDIT.

Ok, thanks. I think I just may go with something else. Thanks for the suggestion though

thier is a guy on e-bay that is a reseller and is way cheaper than summit...you could most likely get a 7 series for what a 6 would cost from summit...even mallory does a comparison with msd..it draws less amps and produces the same or more spark
