I have a 5.0 '89 LX and the temperature guage is broken along with the speedometer.
I would like to know where i can install an aftermarket water temp sensor on the engine. I was told to look near the rear of the passenger side head.. under the intake.. But i couldnt see any place it would go.

Also would anyone have any ideas on how i would go about fixing the speedometer.. i know it could be the speedo gear in the tranny or just a broken cable....(mine only reads up to 85mph anyway...idk what they where thinkin..or 115 where the trip reset button is..maybe this is why its broken..)

because your car is or was a 4 banger..head to the junk yard and get a 5.0 inst. panel

 

Its definatly a 5.0 ...but a few things were always a little off to me.. making me also think it was a 4 banger.
