I couldnt race this year because my SCCA licence expired, but last year and the year before i was racing my probes. I would go up to Ft. Devens in Mass. I ended up spending more time tossing parts into my car and being unemployed this year that i would have liked... so unfortunatly I now need to get a new licence. I usually raced as SS (stock class) My second probe.. i had to kiss the inspectors *** to get my car though... heh!

Another tire that I sell that would work great on your mustang would be Hankook or Fuzion. They both sell inyour size that would work good in anything but snow and also look good. And definitely not cost as much as a BFG.

Also if you want a cheap good performance street tire check out Kumho, I have a set of MX's on the back of mine right now, actually they're almost done, need to buy some new ones soon. They work great as any other tire would in the wet, and in the dry they seem pretty good as well, although I feel like they hooked better on the street than they did at the track. Best I could get out of them at the track was a 2.05 60'. But yea, check em out at Tirerack.com http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Sizes....model=ECSTA+MX

for 2 245/40/17's its $232
for 2 275/40/17's its $250
so grand total of $482

My only complaint was the goofy sidewall graphic they have, but for the price...

we actually have these on the RX-7, handeling wise on the street they are pretty good. like you said, on the track they seem to lack, but over all a good tire. the reason why we got these was because they seemed like a decent tire for the price while we waited for the Falken RT 615's, they didnt have them out in our size yet so we get the MX's and are very happy with them! kind of forgotten about the 615's lol.

I was going to also suggest the Kumho Ecsta MX, they're relatively cheap and I have never heard a bad thing about them. I'd probably do 255/45 in the front and 285/40 in the rear.
