sry bud but you are way way way wrong here, the only thing a main girdle does is help so when the POS stock block takes a ****, it holds togeather just a little longer. 500hp at the crank is pushing it on a stock block. a r302 is rated at like 1200hp i think, and a dart is higher yet. there is no 2 bolt main 302 block that is or will ever be stronger than a 4 bolt main block.

ORIGINAL: redmustang83596

the D.S.S. can come with a main support system, which ties all the mains together, which is stronger than a 4 bolt main. But the truth is the D.S.S. is a stock block, and will run out of umph at around 550. The dart and the R302 have stronger blocks if setup right, those would be better, but for what your looking to run and for the price, go with a D.S.S..

I was told by a Ford dealer in Tucson, AZ that the new BOSS block would be for sale during 1/7.
My question about it is, how much power will it take before it breaks?
Something tells me I don't want to be the first guy to build one either and find out....
When you consider that about 550HP will break the stock block which was designed over 45 years ago with a slide rule to make about 200 flywheel HP, Ford didn't do such a bad job.........

The World Castings block is the strongest...but it's mostly for racing applications. This block has 2 EXTRA cylinder head bolds per cylinder, all five main caps are 4-bolts, reinforced main webbings, thicker cylinder walls, expanded water jackets, a full 1/2 inch oil gallerys, and weighs about 35-45 pounds more than a stock. It's the best choice, you can buy them for around $2500 from JEGS, but like I said...these are mostly for racing applications.
