remote start removal
anybody have any wiring diagrams or tips for removing all the wiring of a remote start and alarm system. it doesn't work anymore and i dont want it anyway but its a mess and i think if i touch any of it the car wont start anymore haha
it should just be spliced into the wires, so if you just trace the wires from the module and disconnect them it shouldn't hurt the car any... just make sure you remember to seal the wires where they where spliced (even if it's just a pin hole)
ill tell you what i was under the dash of my car today and there is spliced wires everywhere and i have no clue what its for...also there is a small switch on the underside of the steering wheel that i destroyed with my kneea couple weeks ago...it still hurts...anyway...might this be some remote start or somethin like an alarm system...wtf is the switch for?
if it's got an old immobilizer in it do it asap
I bought my 92 lx with an ancient immobilizer in it (was a removable circuit chip in the dash) and was planning on taking it in to have that removed and a new alarm put in but didn't have the time for a week. I ended up going to start it on one rainy dark night only to find that the immobilizer chip had burnt itself out somehow (giant scorch marks all the way around it and one of the metal teeth was gone, burnt clear away and through the plastic around it) and the car would turn over but wouldn't spark. Had to have it towed and bypassed (I'm horrible with wiring)
