BEST THING I EVER DID AND PASSED!! Disconnect a couple of your injectors. Just disconnect the electrical plug from the injector and youll be set. They do the same thing on newer cars such as impalas when a few cylinders shut off on the highway to save gas. Itll lower your emmissions reading, and youll pass garanteed. Less cylinders, less emmisions. After inspection, just plug it back in. Worked for my 1987 speed density stang and my buddys 89 maf stang. Dont be a *****, it wont mess anything up, my mechanic taught it to me.

Nox will also increase greatly if you bump you timing up. Bumping up your timing will increase combustion chamber temperatures and cause more nox. The egrs purpose is to reduce nitrous oxides by putting exhaust gases in the combustion chamber creating a smaller amount of air and fuel that can enter keeping combustion chamber temps down. Nox is a direct result of combustion chamber temperatures. Retarding the timing can really help produce less nox.

true Zach. i'm an inspector in Massachusetts, i know a few tricks too. I know up here, you can't have any leaks in the system. It measures flow and if there isn't enough, you get a turn-away. not even a failure. turn the timing down, set it exactly stock, 10*. run higher octane fuel, not 93, but find a pride station with 91. fill 'er up, beat it up, and bring it back.
