if ya have a cam other then stock ,change springs...if ya have a good lift came above stock and stock springs chances are ya have screwed ya cam anyway that ya have in and smoothed it over a lil..man dont some of you guys read or ask a pro, instead of just askin freinds..if ya use stock springs on a perf cam, then ya will allmost have coil bind and ya sprins wont give the lift needed to cam and will smooth over cam..thats why ya need a new matchin spring to cam to allow that extra lift on cam..other wise howwill ya stock springs open valves to where the cam wants them to be,if the stock springs wont go that high...

Just make sure they have the M-6513-A50 springs w/damper & M-6514-A50 retainers......otherwise, they need to be upgraded.

If you don't have any proof that the springs on your GT40's are upgraded, I would do it for peace of mind. Stock springs can float valves ~.500 lift (E cam is .498 int/exh). I went w/ the Crane valve spring kit from Summit. It's good to .550 lift

<--Running E cam and worked over E7's....
