Needs Some trouble shooting advice
Hello all, i just put my 91GT back together this week . Well i put some rebuild heads on, stock rockers, stock, intake ,stock headers ,stock tb,and mass air. Well the car is advance about 13 degrees. When i start the car it purrs doesnt back fire or nothing. my problem is when i drive it . Car has no power ,gutless, slow!!! Well i put new plugs in autolites. The wires are the old 8mm but worked fine before.Rotor is new and cap.i did replace 2 fuel injectors with some from a local junk yard. 1 was from a 4.6 crown victoria and the other is kinda greenl looking one of a reg 5.0 crown victoria. Im gonna do a compression test next but was hoping some one could shoot me some trouble shootting ideas. Also the gap on plugs are 54 and i have checked the firing order 2 times. Anyone think tho injectors could be wrong or bad or to small?

First do a compression test. Then ground out the cylinders individually to see if you have any that arent firing (due to lack of fuel or no spark. You can check an injector individually by pulling them out and turning the car over and seeing if they spray fuel. You also wanna insure the injectors you swapped are compatable - but I don't see how they wouldn't be their both 19#'s and both are high impodence.

Your problem is most likely in the injectors. When you get injectors you should always keep them in matched sets. The MAF is specifically made for a certain size (i.e. 19lb/hr as stock on the mustang GT). When you have them unmatched, the signal the computer sends to the injector results in different amounts of fuel being dispensed in the intake runner. The O2 sensor can't make heads or tails if you're running lean or rich, thus u go into limp mode. Plus, ford makes it really easy to tell the basic size of the injectors. They color code. 19lb/hrs are a yellow. I know the 32lb/hr are red. I think the, but I am not sure, that the green are 24lb/hr. What you need to do, in my opinion, is get a matched set of injectors. So if you go to the junkyard, nab a whole set of the same size, preferably 19's. Hope tha thelps ya out.
