Thats what this forum is here for! Yes, it can be complicated if you've never done it before.. All i can say is make friends with a mechanic or someone that knows about mustangs to help you with the rebuild. If you do the labor of pulling the motor and gutting it yourself, the labor wouldnt cost as much once it's out of the car, and order your own parts from summit or somewhere. Do you have enough tools? you need an airgun, piston ring compressor, etc... you need alot of stuff to do the job.

Yeah i got mine with Hyper. pistons for about 280. It came with rings, pistons, bearings and gaskets. You don't need to take it to a shop, just aquire those tools mainly, or borrow them. The money you will pay a shop to rebuild your motor, you could spend on those tools. Plus, once you learn how to do it you will save alot of money in the future.
Don't be afraid! I think alot of people are intimidated by the thought. But it's not all that bad. Rebuilding a Trans is much harder.

ah bro, you need a cherry picker, engine stand.. you're talking about rebuilding it in the car? Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but that is impossible.. , it has to be out of the car, taken to a machine shop, dipped, cleaned, possibly bored, honed and even decked (not always but it is possible you will need that depending on your situation) Are you trying to build a race motor or just a regular rebuild?

good luck man.
