Keep in mind that the astro performance deal is a rebuilt one rather than brand new and for the deal requires you to send back your old transmission in "acceptable" condition.
it does sound like a good deal, but right now all i have is the automatic for the 4 cyl. I dont know if they'll want that. and i have to re-buy stuff anyway cause im goin from auto to manual and from 4 to 8 cyl.

The only thing you re-use is the T5 case. The internals are all upgraded to different components and the case is the only thing that has to be in good working order b/c most people wouldn't be looking for a new tranny if their old one was still good.

I would buy a G-Force T5 from Astroperformance.com

I got mine for $1600.00 Shipped to my door. Its got a 26spline input shaft and the Straight-Cut/ Dogring gears, so its a little noisy and clunks when shifting, but thats a comprimise for the strength it has.

Ive had it since May and had no problems with it. I went to the dragstrip every Friday night from May until the end of October.

Launching at 5500 Rpm with 590 RWHP on 10.5" slicks and powershifting at7000Rpm.

They do have a Helical-Cut/ Synconized version for street use but dosent handle as much power as the Straight-Cut/ Dogring version.
