Default 347 Question

How much does it cost to bore and stroke a 5.0 to a 347? What else has to be done to the motor?

i think there is somewhere around here that will bore out cylinders for like 30 dollars a piece, i might be wrong, and ive seen stroker kits for around 1k, so if you do all the work yourself maybe like 1400, i dunno that was just a random guess, im sure someone else knows better

you need a new crank, rods, pistons, gaskets

That's too much money for a CHP kit. You can find them cheaper for those GT kits (the GT is the cheap CHP kit). I cansell you a Scat kit for less than that. Scat > CHP

That's funny.

He'll be better off buying a stroker kit and having a local machine shop do the work. This way he can go directly to the people if there are any problems and he'll save money too.

I machined the block myself for the stroker rods clear. It's really easy. The boring/honging/balancing I farmed out, though. I also put it tgether myself also. I got the sweetest deal of all time also. I got an already machined block but not clearanced, scat stroker kit with bearing, etc...all for $1000 shipped.
