Default porting upper intake?

How many of you have opened up your upper intake, I have a 70mm TB and wondered how easy it was to open it up? and can you open it to 70mm or is 65mm as big as you can go? Do you use a dremel?

First get the apprpriate gasket for the 70mm, then trace the hole onto the side inlet of the upper intake and go to town with a dremel or die grinder. Before you get crazy, stuff a clean, lint free rag (t shirt) into the intake to keep any shavings from going into the motor and also lay one outside the intake, then use a shop vac to suck up all the filings... be sure to take your time and blend the edges smooth. You can go 70mm. Theres a good write up in the last months issue of 5.0 Mustang and Fast Fords.

a little off topic, but if you have heads and new intake, if you mate the heads to the intake you will see a brick wall you need to smooth out too.

extrude honing of the upper will make a big diff too (but it's about $300 just for the upper)
