I have a 91 mustang 5.0 lx with a AOD and the tranny is bad. Well a friend of mine had a tranny sitting around and I don't know if it would work he don't knowwhat it is out of but he things it will work. On the transmission (automatic)it says Ford and the casting reads RF E3SP-7006 so what year do you think this is and do you think it will work in my mustang? Any help I would be happy thanks.

The tranny pan has 14 bolts if that help.

I beleive the the "E3" in the part number means that the part was first produced in 1983...D = 70's, C = 60's...might help a bit in identifying it....

That is just a date code I think but I might be wrong. The E3 means 83 as for the rest I'm clueluss. Any chance you can get a picture of the transmission? There are 2 types of aods, one that bolts to a small block v8 and one that bolts to the v6 4.2 and 3.8.The 4 cylinder had a different type of tranny that won't bolt up at all.

Yeah the tranny was attached to a 302 5.0 engine. I will try and send a video.
