engine ideas
ok so im prty sure that since my car is a DD the best way to go about it would be to build a motor while i still drive this one everyday, and then when its done stick it in the car.
1st i thought just get a gt40 crate motor, and a kb and be set
but i like the idea of a stroker, prob 327 or 331.
so then i was thinking, get a stroker short block, some kinda cam, decent heads(not top of the line, but still good, maybe gt40s w. a good port/polish job), and a gt40 intake.
throw that in the car and then when i can afford drop the kb on top(hence the gt40 intake, itll get her done for now, then the kb will bolt right to it).
chances are w. the cam, ill call up a cam company and tell them my set up and planed set up and get something custom grinded.
what yall think of this idea? i no it wont be top of the line, but shell move thats for sure, and will still be my DD. now realize too, i wont do this till a good 6 months from now prob, will do my suspension 1st(depending on if i can sellmy 4wheeler that might all come from that, then the rest will go towards this motor idea). i figure i have a lil under a grand a month to spend, so ill get it all as i can(i.e. buy the short block, then the heads, then teh cam, etc, etc). good idea? any better ideas?
other idea was get the kb now(well start saving for it now), put it on the stock 5.0, then build the stroker idea and switch the kb over
what yall think? n e better ideas?

I would do the 331 short block like you said. If you do GT40's, get them ported and put slightly larger valves on them. Also, open up your GT40 lower intake some. That should be a pretty good combo and probably won't be enough to split your block w/ a good tune.
I would guess you could get 400-430rwhp out of that setup (w/ the ported heads and lower). The KB's are all 2.2's now so you'd be tearing **** up!! Good luck.

wow, thats actually more then id want, lol....
ok, lets try a diff aproach, 350ish hp on motor... what should i go w.? i wanna do a stroker, but maybe a 302 will do fine i am still learning about them. maybe a 347? i dunno... im in the process of looking up parts right now, just to see what i can do.
