My gears howl like a bitch and stocksuspension you are absolutly correct. I didnt take it past 50 even though i heard them before that but I was too happy to give the car back! lol now i deal with it all the time but its no big deal just need louder exhaust to drone it out
Why get exhaust to cover up gear whine??? Just go get the gears installed properly and then no more whine!!!

Well according to FRPP Gear Install Directions which I have in front of me, Ford Clearly states a break in period of 500 miles, however i agree that if the Trac Lok is properly assembled and the gears are properly installed you can mash the gas as you back off the lift if you want too... I still say play it safe for a lil while, just a piece of mind in my opinion.

I was kind of being sarcastic .... the gears whine but they arent THAT loud. Anyway, I was going to take the car back but I was having problems with the guys who were working on it. They told me one day and it ended up taking them two weeks and I didnt feel like going through the hassle again. Plus I got into a huge arguement with one of them right before I picked my car up so I didnt really want to take it back to them. When I do a 5 lug conversion and get new axles I will have the gears straightened out.

How about calibration? How much more does it cost to have it done? I don't want my speedo/odometer to be off.

Depending on the gear ratio, you can just buy a new speedo gear for $12 and change it your self with a 7/16" wrench... takes only a sec, look in Tech Articles.

Most shops will intall the speedo gear for free... of coarse you pay for it. I got the 23 tooth for my auto w/ 3.90's. Its wierd though because I talked to people with 3.90's in their auto running the 23 tooth and said they are only 1-2mph off... Im definetly 5mph+ off on mine. Also, I paid $25 for mine from Steeda.
