Header Install Re-cap

RE: Header Install Re-cap
ok, if you arent running an h pipe or mufflers you are gonna be getting a raspy tone. an x pipe will also give you a very raspy tone, an h pipe will give you a much deeper sounding tone. but still, it should sound bad like you described. it is most likely a header gasket leak. do like roundman said and tighten all the ehader bollts, then retighten them when its hot. just go out and tighten them every once in awhile ( like 0nce a week) eventually they will saty put and not loosen back up because of all the expanding and contracting. then your good to go, if that doesnt work then it's your gaskets. i just installed some copper gaskets and they are leaking. it sounds as if a lifter or rocker is going out but its not. i bought some some header gaskets that are made by Flatout gaskets. they are made from a high quality graphite and they work very well. you can find them on summit and they only run bout $15 to! i wouldn't reccomend copper gasket because they will not seal near as well like grapthite, but are more reusauble wich you dont need anyways. so go with the copper gaskets. as far as bleeding your brakes goes. pull of the cap from the brake booster then have a buddy pump the brakes for you while you loosen the bleed valve and slowly let a little out at a time. you will see once you get all the air worked out. good luuck man. by the way those headers are peeeeerty what brand did you go with and are those ceramic?
