Will you have to rest the speedometer if you go from 2.90 gear to a 3.55 or 3.73 gear in my 5 spd?

too much is made of gears..yes they help under power'd car to a point. and they really become a focal point is when cams and heads etc are added.....I have had every gear they make in these 'stang...me fav. is 3.55's it makes great use of 1st gear it can actually help gas mileage in city driving, between the 2 isn't much of any performance gain other than the annoying lack of good use of 1st gear

What gears would be best for my daily driver 5.0? I do alot of highway driving. Here is a short list of mods: 306, E303, typhoon upper & lower, etc...& all the bolt on's.

RE: 3.55's or 3.73's
He means anything lower than 3.55s 1st gear will go by too quickly. My friend's 03 GT with 4.10s launched hard but by the top of 3rd it was falling on it's face. My vote is for 3.55s, I love mine and think it's a perfect gear for a DD. It's enough of a gear to make a difference and it will still launch well, while keeping highway RPMs to a minimum. I wouldnt want my RPMs any higher on the highway...
