Default Changing gear

Hi everyone, I have a manual lx 5.0 mustang and I was thinking of changing the diff gear for a 3.73.

I have two questions: How hard is it to change the gear by myself?
and do I need an installation kit (gaskets ans such...)

sorry if these questions have already been asked, I tryed searching but couldn't find anything usefull

thanks

Gearswap is simple - doing it right and not getting noise isn't so easy. To do it yourself you will need a bearing press to do it right, also dont need a gasket just some rtv and a new crush sleeve - shims too would be helpful especially if not using FMS gears

alright thanks for the answers! I'm buying a fms so I shouldn't need shims.
And I guess most ford dealers sell crush sleeve, how munch are they usually worth?

thanks a lot
