recently changed my stock gears to 355s on my 88gt, bought the 20t speedo gear, but have no idea how to change it or even where it is located, any help would be great...thanks guys

the spedo gear is on the drivers side of your tranny

1) remove bolt holding speedoy cable in
2) Pull pinion gear straight out of extension housing
3) use small screw driver to remove the retaining clip from the pinion gear and slide gear off
4) install new gear and retaining clip
5) slide it back in
6) tighten her back down

No need to worry about the gear being in a certain way if it slides in all the way its good...I recomend picking up a Haynes or Chiltons.

what he says works good on an automatic, especially if you jack it up on the driver's side so the fluid runs away from the hole in the housing where the speedo gear is located, you won't spill a drop this way.
on manuals, you might want to use a drain pan underneath the hole as I don't think you can get it jacked up enough to not spill some gear oil out when you do this swap.
