Well if you can't get the plug out with it in, then yes. Also, make sure your car is level when you fill it.

I found a fitting with a nipple that threaded into the plug hole, then i use a long piece of 3/4 rubber hose clamped onand route that up under the hood. I thenused a funnel to pour in the fluid.

thats a good idea i never thought of that

T5s take 3 quarts even BTW
WRONG they take 2 and 3/4 quarts, you should put almost the full 3 quarts in and then it should start to spill slowly, when that happens level the car and wait for it to stop spilling then put the plug back in... to much fluid can cause it to airate (sp) and become foamy causing poor lubrication

I knew it was something like 2.8 quarts...but by the time I pour it all in, unscrew the fitting, and put the plug in, its not a 3 quarts anymore.

you should wait till it stops draining out of the fill plug, b4 you but the plug back in
