Default air question

does it make sense to use a cai w/ a step cowl hood?
or would it get more air under the hood?

CAI's are not useless, they allow a smoother flow, which, when you get more mods, will become a greater increase. you won't see a difference in power right away, but its a good purchase. colder air also allows for greater timing curve advancing, so when you actually get a tune done, the CAI will allow 4-5 degree's more timing throughout the whole curve.

never heard all that before but it does allow for smoother flow. On a stock car it might be good for a few hp but the $$/hp ratio is definetly not worth it in my book. Remove the air silencer and throw in a K&N IMO. Save yourself the $150 and put it elsewhere.
