1994 GT need information
Hey everyone I am new here and seek information along with looking forward to share things with all of you.
I have a 1994 Mustang GT 5.0 with a slightly modified as follows: 303 ALUMINUM HEADS, ROLLER CAM ratio is n/a, 24# injectors, and an eldibrok performer intake it was BACK FIRING seriously at any cruise speed from 10mph to ... I put a new Mass Air Meter on it but it is stock 60mm and that helped alot but did not cure it. I will be putting a calibrated 73mm for 24# injectors on it today. Does anyone think this will cure my problem or do I need to check all sensors and distirutation items too?
ANY and ALL INFORMATION is INVITED.
BTW the smog pump is removed and the erg valve is not routed into the headers anymore either. I bought this vehicle for 1,100 dollars as a prject car a year ago and I am not far from having it ready to cruise.
When down on it it does not miss a lick and will jerk a knot in your neck but when just mildly cruising it kinda misses and will backfire through the exhaust at random.

RE: 1994 GT need information
I hav a few questins as well. As asked above, were you running 24# injectors with a MAF calibrated for 19#? Also, when you say the EGR no longer runs into the headers... do you mean that you completely removed it and blocked it off at the throttle body or does it actually just open to the atmoshpere where it can pull in unmetered air?
If your fuel delivery system is bad, that cna cause backfiring. Same thing goes for the electrical system (plugs, wires, coil, etc)
