Default Whats the Difference?

Between Power shifting and Speed Shifting, because ive heard that T-5s cant take powershifting but speed shifting is ok, so whats the difference?

power shifting is shifting without using the clutch IIRC.. and speed shifting is basicly what it means.. shift it as fast as you can.

i still dont under stand how power shifting wouldnt hurt the car. will you please explain more?

its essentially when u have the car in neutral and u try to smash it in to gear without putting the clutch in, the gears grind together and make like horrible noises. if u do it hard and fast enough then it might go in but then its puttin stress on the gears and could eventually lead to stripped gears, bent shafts, just basically a ****ed up transmission

it does, i hear it will kill the trannys almost instantly, but i HEARD that

a, whats IIRC
b, not using the clutch, like getting the engines RPMS to match the speed of the car and pulling it into neutral and then same thing into next gear?

in reply to b i think thats liek double clutching u get the car in neutral to match the rpms of the transmission with the engine and then u can shift it into the next gear becasue everythigns spinnig at teh same rate and then they mesh, i seen some guy do it in a jetta, thats the only way he shifted, guess it doesnt hurt the trans
