there is 1 ACT and 1 ECT. they arent that expensive. theACT should be on youre lower intake under youre upper intake on the drivers side of the motoe.it has a half circle, half square 2 prong connector.

the ECT is in the black metal cooloant bypass tubes on the front passengers sid of the motor next to the front of the fuel rail.. it looks alotlike the ACT from the top but it has solid brass with a nipple on the bottom when you take it out.

I'm looking through both Haynes and Chiltons emissions section and there's no mention of ACT, but a quick search of the forum found this pic (not the circled one, the ACT is down to the right):

Here's the thread: https://mustangforums.com/m_2649639/tm.htm

But when I compare to the repair manual diagrams - it's not there... could you please tell us more about the ACT and how to check if it's working (unless it's so obviously caked in guck).

you can actually test them in a pot of water with an ohmeter and a thermometer. I dont know the stock resistance values, I know Mattdel has them though.

OK, thanks - so it's like the ECT where the higher the temperature the lower the ohms reading. I just tested that one and the best I could do is basically measure it cold and then compare to when it's hot, and hope to see some difference in the right direction. I'm going to check the ACT today - I've never wished to see guck in my engine, but now I do...

Thnaks guys - much appreciated. Would you be surprised to learn my 1994 GT convertible doesn't have a ACT?

I've also found out that most of the emissions sensors are phony, and I'm talking about theEGR and no O2 sensors... weird?

The vehicle was exported to the United Arab Emirates when brand new - my only explanation is that Ford disabled/cost-cutted non-necessary emissions requirement and programmed the PCM with flat values...

I'll explain what I found in a fresh thread.

you do have an ACT, but its in a different location, and commonly reffered to as an IAT, Intake air temperature sensor

Its mounted in your intake tube

your car definitly still has its EGR and O2 sensors... the mustang wasnt made without them.
take a picture of the back side of your intake manifold from the passenger side of the car, and i'll point out your EGR
