so my 88 mustang is finally back to running but its running like crap when you punch it it sounds like its boggin out then when you let off the gas itll go back to running fine i have no clue whats the problem im tried replacing the map sensor, i cleened the 02's i tried replacing some other sensor i cant remember what it was

it seems like after i put a whole new wire harness in that it started to run like sh*t

these arent ez problems to diagnose over the internet but to me it sounds like a fuel problem...

why did you install a new wiring harness? what year is the car? can you explain the problem a little more?
you say when you nail it, it bogs down. if your sitting still and rev it up, does it run fine?

if im sitting there it does the same thing

and im almost posotive its a fuel problem

i think its running extremely rich because the exhaust burns your eyes and you can def smell it

and i replaced the wiring harness because i was having trouble with the fuel pump and the kid that had it before me was an idiot and cut into the wire harness everywhere

Do you have an ODBI code reader. It might help to know what codes the computer is sending out/ I bought a reader at AutoZone for $40 to troubleshoot my car.

could be a spark problem... hell man... its tough to say, could be alota things...

timing, spark, fuel, or vac leak!

If the MAF or any other sensor is not reading correctly, it could very well be in limp home mode, which runs it rich as hell. Run a KOEO/KOER test to see what it comes up with....

had that problem when i used to have a honda. all it was was a fuel filter. i dunno y it made it run rich but for some reason it did. i really don't got a damn clue just thought i'd throw in my experience, could it be a regulator?
