I'd be real interested in seeing the article, if you can find it.

My engine builder swears by AFR, not only for quality, but flow characteristics as well. Jay Allen from Camshaft Innovations recommended the Canfields.

I wasn't overly impressed with Jay. He sent me a crap stroker kit, which I sold on e-bay and bought a higher quiality SCAT kit.

OKtell me what you think? I'm building a 347 stroker for my 93 hatch. The motor parts consist or a stock block thats been pressure checked and everything eles bored exc.. Scat forged crank with main girdel, Scat forged H-Beams, JE forged pistons 10-1 comp., AFR 185cc heads and i swapped out the original valve springs because the stocks off the 185s can only handel 550lift, The Cam is a Ed Curtusat Flowtech induction its like 576/582 or somethin roller cam, roller lifter, and scorpion roller rockers, my intake is a Trick Flow track heat, 75mm professional products throttle body and 75mm spacer, 42lb Ford Racing injectors, 90 mm mass air, and flowing it out will be a set of MAC 1 3/4 shortys. Oh yeaI bought a set of those valley girdel PRO girdel,So guys my goal was to make 400- 425 HP and i dont know about torque, so give me an idea about what you think my motor will make and what you think about the quality of my parts and my combo. by the way my name is Ryan Cellitti i live in Rockford,IL and im 20 and this is my first forum post.

i think u will def get over the 400 whp mark, maybe 500 at the crank. but 450 is a little too much, and 425 might be the most ur gonna get. but thats a nasty combo. good luck

what are my limits with this setup. what is the max HP i can pull out of this engine. I do have every girdle you can use, right? the main girdle and the lifter valley girdle. What size shot can i throw at it and not have to hope for the best all the time? like i said befor thanks for all the replys keep um coming.

500 RWHP on a stock block is about all you should expect to get away with. I went with an early model block, which is thicker and the block is girdled, but I'm not going to push mine much over 500. I'll be south a 500 after the engine is done, but was considering a smaller blower pulley or bigger crank pulley. For now I'm not going to mess with it.

I you throw juice at it and want to get into the 5's, it's not a matter of if you'll split the block, it's when. Unless you sugar foot it and don't run it at the track.
