Default back in the saddle again

I bought a 89 lx hb a couple of months ago. It had a bad 2nd gear and synchros, so i finally got it out of the shop today. I have never driven it till this morning, kinda felt good. I have not had a perf. car for years. This car has quite a few mods to it, but it has'nt really been driven much for a year or more. My question today is, what are some of the things I need to do before I really drive it hard? Also, not really nowing the internals of the motor, I am not sure what I should shift at, as far as rpm's go. It sure wants to run up quickly, just not sure what these 5.0's or good for. My plan right now is to change the oil and filter, and plugs(what kind?) after that I am not sure what to do.
Some of the mods are-cowl hood, saleen wing, alum. radiator, cobra intake, k&n filter, long tube header, pro 5.0 shifter, msd box, light blue colored injectors, larger than stock cam,pro flo mass air sensor, 3:73 gears, sub frame connectors, bbk bars, weld drag lites and some other stuff I cant think of right now.
Not sure what this should run, but I hope mid to high 13's are possible, with a little help.\
Thanks.

Welcome back, saddle feels good huh? Just dont redline it and, 5.0's are good for everything! For the plugs, just go to Autozone or Advance Auto and you can get some Autolite double platnums. Until you get a S/C they are about the best you can run. After a S/C throw in some Denso Iridiums at about 1 temp cooler than stock. So that brings me to my next sugestion. You asked "After that Im not sure what to do." Just throw on a Kenne Bell Twin Screw Supercharger!

what you on vfast, he said he already has the MSD box! LOL
you should be able to feel when to shift, just wait until the car quits pulling hard, then shift. this will probably be around 6,000 rpm or so based on the mods you listed, but it really depends on the cam.
