EGR eliminator plate
there is a metal plate that people sell on ebay that eliminates the need for the egr block. what are the pros and cons if any? the plate is just so you can bolt the throttle linkage and is shaped like the the EGR but thinner. i got rid of the EGR system anyhow, so what do yall think.

there is a plug you can put in the egr connection to make the 'puter think it's still there..the plate doesn't *** horsepower..you can just unplug the coolant lines off the one on the car for free

i know but im getting a new TB anyway, why should i buy an EGR plate. i already unplugged the coolant lines and plugged them up. the thinner plate is cheaper, oh well too late i just bought a 70mm egr off ebay. lol

blocking it off has got to help the HP some as it stops the flow of hot exhaust gas through the intake manifold internal passageway up to the EGR plate which keeps the intake manifold hotter than it would be without the EGR flowing through it.

RE: EGR eliminator plate
when I removed my EGR, I filled the opening in the upper intake with a marine epoxy compound after putting some steel wool in the hole to provide some backing for the epoxy. also filled the upper end where the valve itself was attached and cut a small metal plate to fit over the existing studs and bolted it down with some RTV sealer. I also used a small piece of SS tape to cover the hole in the lower intake where the hole in the gasket was. the intake still gets some heat, but not near as much as it used to get.
