Default Oil Cooler?

i think my car might have had one at one point in time. Also how important is one, should i run one?

They are not that important on a daily driven street warrior,mostly people use them on like road race cars and drag cars where the engine is really being runned hard

It wouldn't hurt to have and a remote oil filter would be good to but also not important or neccessary, unless you plan on upgrading alot and pushin some real horses out of your pony. if thats the case then you can get dual coolers that will cool your oil and power steering or trans(auto only) or even your gas. plus add on a remote oil filter and you'd have a nice set up...

oil coolers never hurt but they are not all that necessary for a street driven vehicle unless you really drive it hard in lots of stop and go traffic. if you live in a really hot climate, I would recommend you get one but not if you live in a real cold climate.

I could be mistaken on this but I think oil coolers were actually installed on mustangs that were used as patrol cars. That would explain why I have one on my stang. Like you said roundman--only if you drive it hard and are in alot of traffic and that sounds like what a patrol car would go thru
