the problem is, and ive learned this over the course of this week, that u cant rely on just a flow bench test, a ported gt40 head will not beat a stock afr head, on the track it just wont. but its still cheaper and u can still get some good power from them.

Just get GT-40 heads and intake out of an explorer at a junkyard and then send the heads to thumper. Thumper ported GT-40's outflow pretty much everything. Port the intake to match and go with a trickflow cam to complement the gt-40's. Do your basic bolt ons, gears, shift kit, 3200 stall on DR's or slicks, then run a nice suspension setup and your in the twelves easily. You wanna run a 125 shot over that and you would see 11's on the right tune.
I dont think the point of getting the gt-40 head ported is to beat a afr set, I mean cmon a set of stock iron heads milled/ported/polished vs. engineered aluminum heads that cost 1400 bucks new? The idea with the gt-40s is, go get some from a junk yard for 100 bucks, get thumper to port them 600-800, put some rollers on there and bam you have head that perform CLOSE to afrs for 500 bucks less and theyre iron... No re-torqueing, No header bolts walking... Heavier yes, less performance yes, but take that 500 bucks you saved and stick a nitrous kit in the mix [:-]...

why so high of a stall? i thought 3000 was almost to much for a street car. now that i actually think about it your right why hide it. But like I said before im not going to spend an *** load on this car, ill wait till i have a fox to dothat. The nitrous will be hiding from everyone tho. Hell im not even going to tell my friends that im buying it.

alright well, thumpers will do fine, no doubt. u will make some good power. but yea here what u should be thinkin
1) thumper gt40
2) steeda 19, trick flow stage 1, or b cam
3) a 2800 stall
4) a valve body for the aod
5) 410 rear gears
6) holley systemax intake
7) 24 lb injectors
8) 1.7 roller rockers
9) a good tune
and u should be there or pretty damn close.

after you figured in the cost for thumper gt40's i could get a set of aluminum heads. Heads=100,Porting+valve job+spring upgrade=700,shipping there and back=100. for an few extra dollarshave better flowing aluminum heads. Or E7's and some nitrous for the price of the other heads. that is why i want e7's i have also heard of some people pulling some good #'s of them. besides the heads that is what i plan on doing.
