if all else fails in your search for a relay, buy another starter solenoid and mount it somewhere so that the input side is straight off the battery and the ouput side goes to the fan. then find a source of power that is hot only when the key is on and wire that to the small terminal that closes the solenoid switch and you'll be in business. no power loss in a small relay and fan will not run unless key is on.

Sounds like the remote wire may have a short or something or what ever fuse you have it hooked up to may not be one that is directly effected by the ignition. but not sure what the deal is. Mine shuts down when the car is shut down.

This should work for you

http://www.radioshack.com/product.as...5Fid=275%2D226

Power from the batery to one side, then the other side to the fan. The middle pin is where you connect the lower voltage wire that is activated by the car being on.

the soliod well not bun up. but you want the fan to stay on after the car turns of because the temp raise 15 t0 20 degrees when you turn the engine off unless the fan stay on. leave it alone.

I would go with the relay from radio shack myself and the fan don't need to run when the engine is off, if you have a manual fan, it stops when the engine does, so why should an electric one run after you stop the car?? all this does is run down the battery for no good reason.
