Can you get a wrench on it? I wouldn't be using an air hammer to take your water pump off. Did you mean animpact wrench?

Air hammer to pull off the balancer?! WTF. That is the most obscure way I've ever heard of that being done, and i'd throw the balancer out of balance... man.. that could hurt a lot of things. A puller would suffice. Maybe you mean an impact? put the car in gear if it's a standard, if not, depending on the way they crank, (forget which it is) you can always put a big breaker bar on it so it rests on the frame while on the balancer and crank the engine over. if auto, gotta jam something in the flywheel to stop it from turning.

Anyway... don't know what bolt you're talking about, but, I know I had my balancer on mine when I did it. Try a wrench.

You should not have to remove your balancer just to get a H2O pump off...try a small box-end wrench, or look for some other wrench that will fit.

Theres2boltsat the bottom that hold a plate on the back of the water pump. You don't need to touch them to get the water pump off. But if your putting new one on make sure they are tight before you put the water pump on.
