You also need to unplug your injectors and the rest of the wiring harness and move it aside... Then your fuel rail needs to be removed from the top of your injectors and move it aside...Then unhook your coolant lines
Not required...... I did mine last summer and did not need to do this, make it as litttle work as possible it makes putting everything back together much easier.

Maybe I'm misreading your reply or something. But how did you change the lower intake if you did not remove the fuel rail or the fuel injectors?

edited to add: or did you meanyou just removed the rails and actually left the injetors attached to the rail and wire harness? Personally, that seems like too much extra effort really... trying to keep it out of the way and tryin gto keep the fuel from spilling out.
