Default 427 in a 5.0?

I woud like to get some information about seeing if it's possible to put a 427 in my 91 5.0. Has anyone done this before, or seen someone doit, or seen it in a magazine?

Is there enough room in the engine bay for the headers and everything else including a s/c. I know, I know...I will also have to replace transmission, driveline, and rear end.

Any other suggestions/comments welcome. Thanks

Ford had a 427 engine back in the 60's used in the Ford and Mercury full-sized cars. Even stock they make a nice amount of horsepower and a sh!tload of torque. I say a stock 427 in a fox body will eat up a stock '03 Cobra pretty good, depending on which version of 427 you have. You can do it no problem because a lot of people stuff big blocks in fox chassis. Just make sure you have all your bases covered, and a stiffer set of springs to hold the heavy engine.

it can be done but it will be a real tight fit and you need some aftermarket kit parts to make it work right. you will also need to move the battery to the back and upgrade the front brakes and springs/struts for the extra weight of the much larger engine too.

Or.... Bore/Stroke a 351 to a 427 that already bolts up to everything. But that would be the last rebuild on a 351. It would prolly require less mods.

boring and stroking a 351 out to 427 ci is not going to result in as strong as engine as just putting in a 460 big block IMO.
