It will definiatly be a efi swap. Also 8500 rpm would be fine by me if that was the highest I could reasonably get.

Wow that is kind of scary since it was a chevy shop for the most part. (They do a lot of work on F bodys and vettes with ls1's.)

the chevy guy was probably thinking about the 302's chevy made for a few years. you could take a 327 and destroke it and have a 302 that would rap up to 8500 eassssssy. back then 8500 rpms was insane on a v8. not so much now. if youre wanting to take your engine up that high..you're gonna need a lot more than you think. everything is going to have to be precision balanced. the slightest imbalance = boom, no engine.

Whats junk, the LS1's? Also how hard would it be to build a 7500-8500 rpm stroker?

Last time I will say this, do a 408, vic jr head, canfield, afr, hyd roller, pump gas, it will make 500hp at 6500-7000 rpm max, you wont know what hit you. Your not building a 9-10k rpm 351, that much I can guarantee.

imo a new hood would be needed not much room with the stock 5.0. why is it so important to rev the rpms so high.what are you trying to do with this car?

Screw the hi rpm idea. If you want 10k, then a 4banger is the way to go.

You don't need rpms in a stroker

Clearing a stock hood with efi will be tough. Look into K-members which will drop the motor 1-2 inches.
That and some custom work with the intake should get you there.

I have some swap info on my site, linked in my sig...
