Default advice on my engine build up

I got my trick flow streetupper and lower intake today and also my stage 1 cam now from what i've been reading if i'm gonna put that stuff on i mite as well get some heads, now i would like some suggestions on some heads that would fit a fairly low budget, but i need something that will be a noticable diffrence over the stock and this will be the last of my mods except for gears either 3:55 or 3:73. Heres my other question with the stock 5.0 except long tubes with 120,000 miles on it will the rings and pistons hold up to the added pressure from larger heads, i was told by someone that the bigger heads would more than likely blow the rings need your opinion on this. Now i want the car to be fun to drive and be fastbut doesn't have to be the fastest.sorry for the long post i wanted to get it all in one post.

Get some gt40s or gt40 p's

I have gt40ps, tfs stage 1 cam, and tfs street intake. With some other few small bolt ons i am hoping to hit the 300 rwhp mark.....I'm hoping it happens, but im thinkin it'll be a bit less than that. But i have seen alot of guys hit the 300 mark with P heads. Both those heads are fairly cheap and are WAY better than stock heads. You should be fine with 120xxx miles, thats still a very young motor . You can pick up a pair of gt40s for around 200 bones, prolly even cheaper in some cases. Hit up some junk yards.

And yes, the intake and cam would be useless without heads. Its like drugs sex and rock n roll....They all go together.......So HCI or nuffin

+1. I'm running the gt-40's on my car...Haven't bolted them on, but my regular 40's i had on my other car were great. They are by far the best bang for the buck. Aluminum heads outperform and weigh less, but for a cost. I mostly picked gt40's cuz i'm runnin a stock t-5 and i don't have intentions of having it torn out all the time... I'd say try to find a junk explorer or someone trying to sell a set and ****** them up. I give 300 for mine shipped and they had trick flow dual valve springs and studded for roller rockers. So they are very affordable and run great for the money. Good luck

+1 on the GT-40p's, they areexcellent heads andwill work well with that cam and intake. You could alsobuy a set of the Thumper ported E7's. Never had personal experience with the ported E7's that Thumper sells, but have heard good things and the price is reasonable.

I found a set on ebay and was wondering would i need to put new valves and valve springs in and also what about pushrods. Aluminium heads would be great but i just can't see putting that much more money into the car.

I got my P's off ebay, brandnew with springs good up to .600 and a 5 angle valve job for 500 shipped. Wasnt a bad deal, but........

You gotta be carefull. I bought the heads and didnt get to put them on for about another 8 months or so......All went fine till i went to put the valve covers on...There was a valve cover bolt hole that had a tap snapped off inside of it, and ofcourse this wasnt listed in the ebay auction. I had to tediously shatter the tap and pick it out and then retap the hole.....I'm just hoping nothing else is wrong with these heads.

Ask lots of questions about the heads and ask for lots of close up pictures. If they have work done to them ask for receipts to prove it.
