Default Need help, 89 stang running rich?

Hi, I have a 89 stang with the 5.0. Now, I had a guy install a jasper shortblock, and I think he did a bad job. The problem I want to talk about is that the car seems to run alittle rich. Heres what it does:

~ Wastes wayy too much gas (even for a stang)

~ My friend in his miata keeps up with me in the straight line (hell kick my *** in turns, but no way he should keep up in the straights)

~ The car feels sluggish

~ The car wont rev past 5k rpm at all, looses alot of power past 4k rpm

~ lumpy idle, sometimes stalls when idleing.

I pulled 2 plugs, both of which had alittle white residue on the prong thingy (not the electrode). Also, after running hard, I sorta smell gas when I open the hood. I think its running rich, but what do you guys think? What should I do to fix it?

Well I think we fixed it, and it was not a vacuume leak! We pulled the codes from the car, and got a code about the EGR valve. So we pulled the EGR valve, and long behold, the engine guy put the gasket on wrong and it was blocking the EGR valve form working. So we slapped a new gasket on, and now it idles smooth and doesent loose power past 4k rpm. My friend is gonna drive it for awhile, and see if its all good, but it looks like that was the problem! lol. thanks alot for the help!
