500 hp

500 hp
I was wondering what it would take to get a near stock 5.0 to boost at high psi and push 400 to 500 hp at the wheels.
First of all this is a street car so it has to be reliable and last. With that said the things that are not stock is the 75mm tb, FMS B-303 CAM and 24lb injectors. Also the tranny is a World Class Cobra T5 Transmission with king cobra clutch kit. Now I know that the 92 motors have forged pistons but what eles do i need to do internaly? Do I need new rods and a bottom end? Also do I need a larger tb? I am set on getting some AFR heads.
Also I would like to supercharger rather than turbo. With that being said do most people have prochargers on their 5.0s because that is all that is offerd? Or do they make KB and whipples for 5.0s? I do love the whine of those things.
Lastly do you think it would be more cost effective to just put in a different motor? Also would it be possible to blow the motor and stroke it? Or is that too muck for a 5.0?
Thanks for any help and insight to getting a 500hp fox.

RE: 500 hp
I agree...the questions you are asking show you have much to learn about your ride and Mustangs in general before your ready to attempt the kinda build your talkin about. Plenty of good info on this site and many other Stang sites like it. Also, thiers tons of good info in the many Mustang magazinessold at yourlocal store. You have much to learn young jedi, may the force be with you.

RE: 500 hp
1 you need a after market block or upgrade to a 351w
2 . you'll need a way to plant that 500 hp to the ground
3 . search on internet and read up on the buiild . If you plan this type of build you car will handle differently and you'll have to make sure you driving skills ( drag racin , road racing ) areat there best

RE: 500 hp
I wouldn't worry about 500 HP yet. If you're keepnig the stock block, then shoot for 400 RWHP. That's easy and relatively inexpensive.
Supercharger w/ 10 PSI of boost - $2500
Boost Cooler - $300
100 shot of nitrous - $400
And there you have it... you'll be at or over 400 HP.
