Boss_hotrod: that peice that holds the top part of the dipstick that mounts with the headers. broke/fell off when i took the old headers out. so it used to stay stationary but i noticed yesterday that it was laying in a weird direction, i went to take the stick out and the whole thing came up...

cioccoj: ill try that once i get it up in the air...

Is it borken off flush with the oil pan ??? what I was sayin is if it broke and there was a bit stickin out were you could get some vise grips on it the wigle it back and forth and pull the remaing bit out or you could try using a 90 dergree pic and try to pull it out with that.. It not that much of a disaster wait till you wanna install a set of header

Yes indeed, i just got my motor mounts installed today, its great with the car being up in there air you can see everything. Like he said take a look at it, its find it starnge for it to brealk off right at the bottom on the tube, just take a peel and find out, Good luck!

From that statement it sounds like the dipstick just pulled out. The bracket hols it in place from wiggiling and add the resistance to the tube so the stick will come out. Just make a new braket or rig the old on back and stick the tube back down in the hole in the block and you should be fine.

Another possiblilty is that when you pulled the stick out the tube pinched at the bottom where it comes out of the block. In that case you need a new dipstick and tube assembly.
