Default ok, i am tired of throwing money at this piece of crap

if this dont fix it, anyone wanna buy a 90 Mustang Gt , 306, about 30k miles on it, 5speed, Ford Racing HD clutch, aluminum drive shaft, 3.23 gears, adjustable clutch Quadrant and new clutch cable, Short Shifter ( its a 5.0 something or other brand) , flowmasters, and after it gets here, it will have a Pypes Cat X-Pipe.

before it sat, i took on a 2000 SS Camaro and put a good beating to him.... basically i had grip both times we raced... he didnt, but, i didnt tell him that...lmao

Then, i am going to go buy a Camaro.... lmao... oh wait, i have an 85 Iroc 5-speed.

Here is the new problem...... it seems as though the IAC has gone out. I wanna make sure, when you unplug it while its running, its almost suppose to die right, then plut it back it it will bring the rpms back up?

because when i unplug it, it only drops about 50-100 rpms in difference..

if an IAC goes out, and is leaking buy, will that give a lean mixture to the motor?

now i just hope i can fix this thing... i love this car , we have been through hell together.. [/align]

Those autolite platinums aren't helping you any, they need a hotter ignition to make them fire properly, or so I have heard. Have you ever gotten a check engine light or have you scanned it for codes lately?

My car is doing something similar. Check engine light comes on when car hits operating temp. during the warm up it back fires and has no power at all. After the car warms up seems to run fine. Gas mileage is about what yours is, I am lucky to get 110 miles out of a tank. I have posted this problem on the board several times and no one has any idea. If you get your problem figured out let me know, I might have the same problem.

My car was running like a top prior to my exhaust upgrade. I put on BBK shorties, x pipe and flowmaster cat back system. O2 sensors went back on and the car went to hell in a hand basket. Friends around town seem to think th O2 senors went bad. I have not replaced them as of yet.

ok

1) Seafoam does not cure everthing.... I have ran that for this problem.... no dice...

2) I changed out the Fuel filter and cap and rotor, so now a full tuneup has been done.....

as for Fuel delivery and maybe the secondary circuit not opening.... i dont think we have to worry about that.... i filled up a few days ago , and now looked at my gas mileage compared to the amount of gas i used.... for 106 miles i have used 3/4 of a tank.... yes that is 75% of the tank of gas....for 106 miles...

so, I am really down to the cats again beginning to go bad and restrict flow, hence needing to push down on the pedal more, using more gas, with the flow not so good and possibly some back flow every now and then would cause backfiring through the intake......

sound about right?
had the same problem. my cats went bad and i could not even get the car to go above 10 MPH.(a cop pulled me oven and made me tow it home). as soon as i replaced them the car ran fine.
