Default help with the engine bay

when i go to paint the engine bay do i need to take everything out? like all the hoses and everything on the fire wall and such? and i will be having the hatch, rear bumper cover, both doors, and whole front clip off the car so it will be painted better. do i have to take the weather stripping off the car? and the quarter windows do i have to take off or can i just tape them off? thanks!

You get what you put into it...more you clean, prep, and remove what is not to be painted then the less chance it will be. Shortcuts usually end up looking like shortcuts were taken.

Remove the interior panels and you'll see the retaining bolts...failure to remove them will likely leave a ridge of paint along the seam of the window/body. If you're having a shop paint the car then have them do it. Usually all moldings are removed as are the weather stripping to prevent overspray. Moldings are best painted with a flex agent added to prevent cracking when reinstalled.

You say nothing about painting the whole car... just the motor bay. Which are you doing?
