So what's it take to install one? The tranny isn't really that hard to drop and the converter sits right up in the front of the tranny. Anybody done this themselves? I got all the tools I would need.

On a scale of 1-10, how hard is it to put in a new converter?

 

The difficulty level is going to be determined by your mechanical skills. It's really not to hard. Drop the tranny and swap the converter.

I've done a few of them, it's not that hard, just time consuming. I'd highly reccomend doing it on a rack though. And try to get a buddy to help you, 4 hands are way better than 2 especially when dropping a tranny.

the tuffest part is getting it to drop all the way into the pump.. i have done many not to hard realy but i have a lift in my garage the last one i did took about 1.5 hours start to finish

 

+1 to having two people... auto trannies are not that light
