Default Over heating?

Okay this is my first post....be gentle...

I bought a 1989 LX 5.0 coupe that needs lots of TLC and I mean a lot of TLC. Right now I'm dealing with two big problems. #1 The temp goes up just a little, not really "overheating", and steam starts coming out of a hose near the back of the engine by firewall. Any ideas what that could be?

#2 There is a "thumping" sound coming from the right rear tire area when I'm rolling down the road. It sounds like something is loose. I think the shocks are just blown and that is what's making the racket. What do you think?

Any help would be great. Thanks.

Default RE: Over heating?

is the steam coming out of a hose on the lower passenger side of the firewall or out of a hose connected to the engine? check for a "bubble" in the back tire and/or have someone follow you while your driving to look at the tire to see if it is wobbling or bouncing up and down.
