Why do you all talk about 1/8 mile times? I mean i dont know anyone who runs 1/8 mile here. Seems like a waste of gas. All i have every ran or seen ran is 1/4 mile tracks. I mean does running a 1/8 mile in 8 secs make the car just sound better? Im not trying to be a *** by any means. I just saying y in the world would ya run only a 1/8.

Edit: Is cause your only limited to a 1/8 mile track where you live. I just learned we had one around here. Lol just called up a buddy of mine. Thats funnyer than hell i had no clue we had one .
i live in jackson tn and they have an 1/8th mile track here... right outside of town so its close so i run there and so do alot of people... and running 8's i was just comparing what the ls1's run... now memphis is about 1 hour from here with the quarter but here at the 1/8th mile track on fri. nights is grudge racing run all you want against who you want all heads up.. and its only 5 dollars to get in and 5 extra to run all you want against who you want.... so i dont really see the since in driving an hour tospend more money to run the quarter mile....itsthe same thing as the track herejust longer.i know a guy that runs 12's in a quarter and 7's in the 1/8th.. according to the calculator an 8.90 in an 1/8th is around about13.9 in a quarter... only one here that i know to run in the 8's in an 1/8th andhas also ranat a quarter mile track is a guy who run 8.70 in an 1/8 ran a 13.6 in a quarter.... alot of quarter mile tracks will list the 1/8th mile timeand speed above the quarter mile time on the slip. there are alot of memphis guys who come here ...they say its more of a rush then the quarter mile is..its fun not alot of room for era because not alot of room to make it up... if youve never ran at an 1/8th mile track you need to sometimes its just as fun. just over quicker..

and i see alot of vids from 1/8th mile tracks on street fire and all over the internet...its still drag racing...

Great win Bro especially with a virtually stock 5.0 with just bolt ons. Back in the day the big battle was with modified GN's. I stil have repect for those even now and my car is far from stock. Still have stock bottom end but that is about it. Too many mods to list but has all the best top end equip, vortech, aeromotive fuel system, DFI, etc......Irealy like running a WS6 when the guy has his girl in the car.....now that is fun!!!
