I was waitning for the day when this would happen. I am driving down the street and this crazy lookin Del Sol pulls out and we end up at the light together. We decided to go and as usual I fight for traction so he immediately got a half a del sol on me. But from that point on I began to catch him and was about even at 3rd gear and right before I was about to pass him we both had to let off.I stopped and talked to him and found out that he had a Type-R integra motor in the car. He obviously had tons of money into the car. I found out that he may have been using nitrous but im not totally sure of that. I think that the fact the he immediately jumped a lil on me is an obvious sign that traction was my weakness.................

next on your list is suspension mods then huh? new struts and normal stuff like that if there stock and old.... what size tire are you running? how wide?

the ITR engine isn't all that great. The only reason its so popular is that it can handle the PSI better then any other honda engine. its only puting out around 180hp and 140 ft/lbs of tourqe at the fly wheel. With minor mods any decent runing 5.0 should be able to take it. Hookin up tho is a lot different with the FF then the FR. Before i bought my mustang i owned a 02 civic SI, i know alot more about the import scene then i do about the mustang scene.

also you gotta figure weight...... 180 at the flywheel on a delsol ist doing to bad considering they dont weigh much more than a riding lawnmower

I know I can drive....I may be able to dump at a higher RPM and just play with the gas until I feel I can put it all the way down. I am launching at only like 2000-2500, im not totally sure. But then I dont floor it until around 4000 rpm. When I slam it into 2nd the tires are spinning again...

I have 225/50 in front and 245/50 in the rear...They are just cheap Khumo...$56/tire!!!!!!!!

i have 245/50/16 on mine i think its abetter size, more meat on the tire and it fills the wheel wells a lot better. but yeah control arms or somethin would be helpful to keep the wheels on the ground, you could also relocate the battery to the rear that will distribute the wheight a little more evenly and should give you a little more grip

Well even with ur spin you would of beaten him.. If you shut down in 3rd then your race didnt even start. Dude what mods you have done to your coupe,its nice looking.

im sorry man but you must not know how to drive aggresivly. one you dont dump a clutch, you slip the clutch off the line. you can launch harder and stronger without wheel spin. also if he was NA and giving that you can atleast run a 14. that would of been a close race. Now if he was spraying then probably the outcome woudl be worse. Now if you was able to hit 13 and knew how to drive then i would say you woudl of got him easliy


there is alot more ot driving then just giving gas and shifting. ppl need to know that also you can have all the power in the world but no suspesnion and you go no where. its very possible to accerate on street tires. just need to know your car and got to have a good suspension
