X 303 cam install??????

Default X 303 cam install??????

I have an 89 Mustang notch with a 302 H.O. in it and a friend of mine has a brand new X 303 cam for sale for a super price........Will it work with stock valve springs and will the piston/valve clearance be ok????

no you will have to notch the pistions for vlave clearence and i would change the springs for that cam too

Actually the cam is a Speed Pro knock off of the X303 cam.

intake exhaust
Duration: 299 309
valve lift: .510 .534

you would need to let a mechanic that knows what they're doing cause you'll most like ly have clearance issues and new springs too definately, if you have stock heads it probably wouldnt be worth getting the bigger cam unless you want to buy new heads too or maybe you could have yours ported and polished that might help too. the basic operating rpm range is 3,500-6,500. that would mean you would be feeling the power kickin until 3,500 rpms and that would kinda suck, right now i have a b303 cam and it doesnt kick in until 3,300 which is why i'm probably going to get an e303 which would be 2,500 to 5,500 which is definatley good for street rides

Yep cam is a waiste without getting heads. I have the E-cam makes good power.

you will need to get the pistons flycut (not worth it if your not building up the motor while your at it)[8D]
