Default LAGGGGGGGG!!!

Alright so probably by my tag u can tell that my 5.0 is ancient (79) and im not sure but im probably the last person to drive it in 15 yrs. So my question is how come i have so much lag when i step on the gas and occasionaly the rpm's whip up high when im tryin to haul ***. Could i just need to getnew air filters and old **** flushed or should i just tune it up? The other day i got pulled away by an 06 V6 and it has bout a 1000 pds and maybe like 25 more horse then me so how can i make sure this never happens again? (New gears, HCI swap?...)

do a full tune up on it.new plugs, wires, cap and rotor, fuel filter. clean the carb out with some carb cleaner. new air filter, new oil and filter. is youre car a stock 79 5.0? if it is... it doesnt surprise me that you lost to an 06 v6. they have like 200+hp or something and youre 79 in top running condition has 140hp.

if its a holley carb, adj ya acelerater pump on side...holley say turn 1 full turn i think for each sec of hesitation....
and yes a full tune up if not done recently will help.... fuel filters, ect

on a side note,+1 79 stock 302 was like 145-159 hp.....a new v6 is better tech,and more hp...better suspension all have a adantage...
to keep up,more comp, head work bigger valves will help alot....cam,,,,,,,the usual HCI set up
