Probe Industries makes great kits, D.S.S. is very popular, but with mixed reviews it seems, most are using SCAT or Eagle cranks and "H" beam rods, but to determine what size to go is up to you. 347's do max out stock blocks, but you are limited by the amount of abuse a stock block will take anyways. I have always started with a new aftermarket heavier 4blt main block, but that is cost prohibitive for some.

yeah, ya rich bastard[8D]

anyways whats the point of spending all that cash on a new stronger 302 block when you could just as easily spend that money on a 351 block and build a wicked 400+ ci monster.

My pernt exacary. You might as well go Windsor, but I would never tell anyone that is the only way to go. Some peeps like the 302 format, and the Boss blocks and Dart blocks are kick azz, so for those who like to dwell in the 302 based world there are options for them also. Meh, I am a Windsor guy strictly.

i have no problems with building a 302, or even a 302 stroker (actually i'd take a 289 over a 302 any day of the week but you NEVER see any EFI 5.0 guys slap a 289 in there) but anyways yeah if i had to BUY another block for a build, it'd be a 351.

one day i will have a 408 stroker with cleve 4v heads. i know there are better heads out there, and bigger stroker kits - but i have this deep down feeling that it would make an awsome combination plus still utilizing ford castings.

What am I? Chopped liver?

You can go bigger than a 347 in a stock block if you know what you're doing. And I'm not talking about .040 or .060 over.

I have seen 302's go to 368ci but on stronger blocks than stock.
